Marbled White Butterflies (again) on Bostall Heath (the Royal Borough of Greenwich)

There were at least two, possibly three Marbled White Butterflies:

We go in Search of Jersey Cudweed

We found Jersey Cudweed in three new locations viz.

South Gipsy Road: TQ4775
South Close: TQ4775
Upton Road: TQ4875

En-route to Danson Park (from South Gipsy Road), we looked for Wild Flowers on an obviously Regularly Mown &c. Grassed Area (including two Raised Areas), sandwiched between Park View Road and Danson Mead (Grid Ref. TQ4775).

We didn't stay long in Danson Park after seeing that an area where previously Wild Flowers had grown, had been razed to the Ground.

We decided to return Home via Bexleyheath Station (in the hopes of photographing a Train) and Bostall Heath.

Our luck was in at the Station where we saw a Dartford-bound Train viz.


On to Bostall Heath where we were caught in a couple of Rain 'Showers and we saw quite few Butterflies viz. Essex, Large and Small Skippers, a couple of Commas, a Green-Veined White, a Peacock, a Red Admiral, a Marbled White and Meadow Browns and Ringlets:







We also popped over to where the Heather grows hoping to find some Bell Heather which we did viz.


We also saw some Purple Toadflax viz.

We decide to go for a Bicycle Ride

And see how many different Wild Flowers we could find. We also spent some time beside the Upper Bedon Stream looking for Bees, Butterflies &c.

We Bicycle to Winn's Common, Plumstead (the Royal Borough of Greenwich)

We wondered if we might see a Marbled White Butterfly. In the event, we didn't see much and certainly not a Marbled White Butterfly. But on the 'Plus Side', we managed to take a route that avoided the Steep Hills viz. the King's Highway.

We are fixing that this not-so Little Guy, seen on Bostall Heath (the Royal Borough of Greenwich), might be a Black and Yellow Longhorn Beetle:

Marbled White Butterflies on Bostall Heath (the Royal Borough of Greenwich)

We saw one fleetingly last year: and at least two today, including this Little Guy:


Which means that during the three days commencing Saturday, we have seen Marbled White Butterflies on the Holly Hill Open Space (Saturday), the East Wickham Open Space (Sunday) and Bostall Heath (today viz. Monday). Which would have been unheard of, just a few years ago.

To the East Wickham Open Space in Search of a Marbled White Butterfly

We saw a single Marbled White Butterfly last year during the Bexley RSPB' Butterfly Walk so were hopeful of seeing one or more, today. And Yippee: we did, although just the single Butterfly.

To the Holly Hill Open Space to look for Butterflies &c.

We bad intended to go by Bicycle but decided to walk (via the Upper Bedon Stream): hopeful of finding the Spotted Spurge first seen during 2017 (and mentioned in Kent Botany 2017)  in the local Monad. And Yippee: we found some viz.
