We Bicycle along the Thames Path from Woolwich to Erith

We Bicycled into Woolwich and then rode along the Thames Path to Erith before returning Home.

There were Baby Mallards, a Baby Oystercatcher and Baby Egyptian Geese.

Some Sea Asters were flowering (very early) and the Sea-Milkwort is coming into flower.

We saw what we assumed were Bryony Mining Bees (Andrena florea) on some White Bryony.

It was High Tide by the time we reached, Ringed Plover Territory, so no hopes of seeing one.

Whilst on the Thames Path we were reminded that Bicyclists can be a Nasty, Unpleasant and Arrogant Breed.

And on arriving Home, we saw a couple of Goldfinches in the 'Back Garden': one pecking at a Sow-Thistle.

We finally get to visit the Rough Ground beside Alsike Road in the Abbey Wood/Thamesmead area

The Rough Ground lies beside the Railway Lines. We had been intending to visit for a while and since we were passing, en-route to the Erith Southern Marsh to look for (previously seen) Marsh Dock, we decided to take a peep.

We bicycled down to Erith and then drifted up-stream along the Thames Path: turning for Home via the Footpath that runs beside the Waste Incinerator.

Our first Damselfly of the Year in the Garden (a Large Red Damselfly perhaps) viz.

A Bumblebee visits Bird's-Foot Trefoil viz.

We walked to Bostall Heath (the Royal Borough of Greenwich) and then bicycled to the Holly Hill Open Space

There were lots of Little Critters out and about on Bostall Heath: including a couple of Green Hairstreak Butterflies and a Small Copper Butterfly (not shown):

After visiting Bostall Heath we bicycled to the Holly Hill Open Space in the hopes of a Small Heath Butterfly or two and we managed to see four, including these Guys:

A first visit of the Year to the Allotments

We had intended to give the Allotment up but will be carrying on for the time being.

There were quite a few Bumbleees on the Phacelia and this Guy on the Hoary Cress growing beside the Entrance:

We visit the Crayford Marshes

It didn't take too long to Bicycle there (around 35 minutes or so) and we stopped en-route to look at the Navelworts viz.

We have never looked for the Submerged Forest which we imagine, would probably have been visible today viz.

Next time we go we will be looking out for it.

We managed to see ten (10) Species of Butterfly viz.

Plus this assumed Common Carder Bee visiting Red Clover viz.

Wild Flowers' flowering (we weren't really looking at/for them) included: Bird's-Foot Trefoil, Bush Vetch, Germander Speedwell, Hawk's-Beard, Hedgerow Crane's-Bill, Hoary Cress, Oxeye Daisy and Red Clover.  Plus possible Lucerne although it might be Sand Medick viz.
